Rays and shine! Opti is powered by clean energy from the sun to protect all of the fields around the world. It’s all sun and games until you run out of light. Luckily, the Opti solar pannel powers a battery to ensure your sensor can work during even the rainest of days.
Fielded chose to use a hologram SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card in order to ensure that Opti could send data from almost anywhere in the country. Other SIMs only connect to one network, which means that some areas might not have connectivity. Instead, Hologram automatically connects to the best network nearby, meaning that the signal will always be strong enough for data to be sent.
See HologramOpti uses a module known as the SIM900. Tiny, lighweight, reliable, and fast, the SIM900 is the powerhouse of sending data from Opti to the Fielded dashboard. The SIM900 allows Opti to connect to the internet in order to send data. Through an API (Application Programming Interface), Opti then relays the data into the Fielded database, where it will eventually appear on the dashboard with real time, accurate results.
About GSM
Opti uses the powerful Arduino Uno Rev3 to act as the brains behind the whole operation. The Uno is a microcontroller that controls each and every sensor involved in Opti's operation. The Uno is fast, dependable, and works well each and every time. It acts as a centralized area for all of the sensors to relay data to, where they will then be passed to the SIM module to be sent to the Fielded dashboard.
